Update from the Watchfield Community Led Plan
Well finally we have a few dates to announce and put in your diaries.
First, on Saturday 28th February there is going to be a free evening of entertainment at the Village Hall. Starting at 7pm, we are going to host a film night. At no cost to you, please come along for a hot dog, some pop-corn and some soft drinks before settling down and watching a new release film on a big screen. It will be like a miniature Greenbridge, but for free! We might well ask for your views on this event, and suggestions for other events, and future involvement in the Community Led Plan, but that is it. The film that we are going to show is a very recent Disney release, called “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day”. Having seen it at the cinema before Christmas, I can thoroughly recommend for a bit of light hearted, family entertainment, suitable for all age groups.
Second, on Friday 27th March there is going to be a Pot Luck Supper, again in the Village Hall. The potluck or “bring-a-dish” dinner is a popular concept among friends, and apparently a pretty big deal in the States. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a dinner party where everyone brings a course or dish. Timings to follow, but please put it in your diaries.
Third, on Saturday 9th May there is going to be a family event on the Recreation Ground. The exact details are yet to be decided, but think some types of children’s activities and a BBQ and you won’t go too far wrong.
