Oxfordshire County Council will be carrying out resurfacing work on the A420 this summer. The stretch between the Shrivenham/Bourton turn off and the Watchfield roundabout will be closed in both directions for approximately 7 weeks, probably beginning on July 21st.
The details of diversionary routes have not been finalised yet but there is an expectation that traffic will be diverted through Shrivenham and past the end of Watchfield High Street along the Faringdon Road. There should be plans to ensure non-local HGVs will be diverted along the A34/M4 rather than through village routes.
As soon as we have more information we will pass it on.
