A statutory notice has been published in relation to the proposal to expand Watchfield Primary School to become 2 form entry, with an admission number of 60. Currently, the school has an admission number of 45.

The proposal is to increase the number of Reception children admitted each year from September 2014 onward, gradually building to a full capacity of 420 children from Reception to Year 6.

The reasons for the proposal are an increase in local demand for pupil places at Watchfield Primary School and new housing developments in the area which will generate more children requiring a school place. A feasibility study runs alongside this consultation, focusing on the physical buildings and outdoor areas, and this work is ongoing.
